Stadium IGT, one of the UK’s longest established Human Machine Interface (HMI) Solutions providers, has achieved a Bronze Recognition Award from the SC21 programme.
SC21 is a change programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. International competition, together with the challenges posed by the Defence Industrial Strategy, necessitates rapid improvement in the effectiveness of UK supply chains. At the same time UK industry must ensure that it delivers competitive solutions for customers whilst maintaining profitable business growth.
Stadium IGT signed up to the SC21 program in April 2011. Measuring their delivery and quality performance to companies within the nominated sectors demonstrates 97.6% on time delivery and 99.9% quality performance in a rolling 12 month period. In June 2012 IGT achieved the Bronze Recognition Award which was presented at the Farnborough Airshow in July 2012.
Gordon Webb, IGT’s SC-21 coordinator, says “This award could not have been achieved without the commitment from both Senior Management and Shop Floor personnel. Only by working together and adopting lean manufacturing techniques will we continue to make further improvements in our business”.
SC21 companies are committed to working together through the two key streams of Performance, and Development and Quality to improve efficiency and productivity, remove duplication and lower overheads and costs.
The SC21 programme commits companies to achieving high performance in both Business Excellence and Manufacturing Excellence. Combined with common performance metrics for Quality and Delivery, the results of the programme will be a leaner and more effective organisation delivering win/win results within the UK supply chain.
SC21 companies recognise that sustained success in our industry requires collaborative working and positive relationships in all directions. Using the SC21 relationship code of practice companies can identify the level of relationship needed and objectively focus upon the areas that need improvement.
Organisations achieving and maintaining agreed criteria in terms of delivery, quality, sustainable improvement and the associated improvement frameworks (business and manufacturing excellence) receive recognition in the form of a bronze, silver or gold award sponsored by an SC21 company, regional partner or A|D|S.
The SC21 21st Century Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industry Supply Chain Programme Presentation was held at the Farnborough Airshow, July 2012.
